Since ancient times it is used in home remedies as a cure for general health ailments. Due to its versatile properties this pungent spice has been an integral part of ayurveda. It contains an active ingredient ‘Gingerol’ which is responsible for the effective functioning of immune system and enhances the immune response.

Ginger is an antioxidant rich herb and has phytotherapeutic properties, hence protects cells from free radical damage, attenuates cell death and eliminates toxins through sweat.

Most properties of this herb are ascribed to this very component called ‘Thymoquinone’ . This active component increases the production of WBC’s and haemoglobin level for supporting immune system and also controls cellular oxidative damages. It even treats certain skin conditions like vitiligo, atopic dermatitis, pruritis etc., A study has shown, kalonji reduces certain level of virus load in an immuno-defficient condition (AIDS) on regular consumption , hence is an excellent immunity booster.

It contains all essential amino acids and has all essential nutrients and micronutrients that are needed for normal growth and development i.e vitamins (Vit B12, Vit E, Vit C, Carotene), Minerals (Calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium, manganese, selenium) and phytopigments.
